VISION OF AGRICULTURE SECTOR

To be a competitive, modern and sustainable agriculture sector within the local and global economy by the year 2010.

 

NATIONAL AGRICULTURE POLICY 3 (NAP3) OBJECTIVE

The over riding objective of the policy is maxization of income through the optimal utilisation of resources in the sector.

 

The Specific Objectives:

To enhance food security

To deepen linkages with other sector

To create new sources of growth for the sector

To increase productivity and competitiveness of the sector

To conserve and utilise natural resources on a sustainable basis.

 

The Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture Sarawak is responsible for policy formulation, planning and development of the agriculture and food industries in Sarawak .

 

THE STATE AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES

Increase food production and food security

To promote sustainable development of agriculture

Maximise the income of local farmers and fishermen

Revitalize the sector contribution to the state economy

Restructure the smallholder sector into commercial and modern agriculture sector.
